Halifax District RCMP are seeking the public's assistance in identifying a suspect who recently targeted three local businesses in Hammonds Plains.
Just before 10 p.m. on Wednesday, a male suspect attempted to break in to the Edible Matters Restaurant on Hammonds Plains Road, but failed. The suspect then moved on to the Tim Hortons at the corner of Kingswood Drive and Hammonds Plains Road, where he gained access to a storage shed. It's unknown if anything was taken, RCMP said in a news release.
At about 11:30 p.m., the suspect targeted a third business, the Kingswood Market. A surveillance camera there captured him approaching the rear entrance carrying a pizza, police said.
He spent two hours trying to pry open the door and succeeded at around 1:30 a.m. He stole various energy drink products and chocolate milk before leaving.
The suspect was wearing a camouflage jacket with a hood, jeans and rubber boots.
