The Canadian Red Cross is helping two people after a Whitney Pier fire forced them from their home Thursday morning.
The fire broke out at about 4 a.m. in an old “company home” duplex on Dominion Street, the Red Cross said in a news release. It said the blaze displaced several people.
The owners, who lived in one half, weren't home at the time. The man and woman who lived in the other half are the couple the Red Cross is helping. The agency is arranging emergency lodging, food and clothing purchases.
There were no injuries.
