The RCMP / Halifax Regional Police dive team was dispatched to Chocolate Lake in Halifax on Sunday evening to look for ammunition and various metal objects that had been thrown into the water there.
Divers scoured the area "for anything suspicious or dangerous to swimmers" at the popular beach, police said in a news release. They provided no further details.
Colchester RCMP investigating hit-and-run collision
Colchester District RCMP are looking for the driver of a car who sped off after a collision with a motorcycle last Tuesday.
The rider and passenger on the motorcycle were both treated by paramedics and transported to hospital with minor injuries after the crash on July 11, shortly after 5 p.m. on MacElmon Road in Debert.
"The vehicle is described as a grey car, possibly a Toyota Corolla, and it left the scene at a high rate of speed," RCMP said in a news release.

RCMP seek car-burning culprits
RCMP are seeking the public's assistance in the wake of the theft and burning of a car in Porters Lake.
"On July 13, RCMP responded to a report of a white 2016 Nissan Altima that had been stolen from a residence in Porters Lake. The theft occurred between 5 p.m. on July 12 and 8 a.m. on July 13. The vehicle was later found on Bavaria Drive after the suspect(s) attempted to burn it. It was extensively damaged as a result," RCMP said in a news release.

Suspects sought in theft of jacket
Colchester District RCMP are seeking a pair of suspects in the theft of a jacket from the washroom of the Canadian Tire store in Lower Truro.
The incident happened on July 11 at about 3 p.m. The jacket contained a wallet, a set of keys and an amount of cash.
"A man was seen exiting the store with the jacket, and a short time later a woman turned in a set of keys from the jacket to the customer service desk. Both individuals left the store in a four-door silver sedan," RCMP said in a news release.
