Two men charged after Queens District RCMP officers confronted during arrest

The men face charges that include obstruction of justice and causing a disturbance after the incident in Milton early Sunday morning.

Two men have been charged after confronting RCMP officers during an arrest in Queens County on Sunday morning.

The incident occurred at about 4 a.m. when Queens District RCMP responded to a complaint at a home in Milton, RCMP said in a news release Monday afternoon.

After they arrested a 46-year-old man, two other men confronted the officers and tried to get into their police car while threatening the arrested man. The same men confronted the officers when they arrived with the detained man at the Liverpool detachment.

"The men made threats of violence towards the male in custody and violence towards police, including threats to drive a vehicle into the detachment to gain access to the prisoner," the release said.

Both men left the detachment and were arrested later that morning without incident.

Kris Kelly, 49, of Liverpool was charged with obstruction of justice, causing a disturbance, attempted break and enter, two counts of uttering threats and two counts of breach of probation.

David Troy Oickle, 45, of Liverpool was charged with obstruction of justice, causing a disturbance and two counts of uttering threats.

Both men were taken into custody and were to appear in Bridgewater provincial court Monday.
